Considering Aged Care?
Moving into a residential aged care facility is one of the most significant decisions you’ll ever make; and there are many options to consider.
Here at Marco Polo, we aim to provide you with assistance at ANY TIME throughout the four steps below:
1. Obtain an ACAT Assessment
The first step is to have your current situation assessed by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). A free service, the ACAT assessment is mandatory if you wish to access government funded services to help you remain living at home, or if you are considering a place at an aged care home.
For more information on ACAT Assessments, please visit My Aged Care.
2. Complete A Department of Human Services (DHS) Assets & Income Assessment
The outcome of this assessment is used to determine your individual aged care fees. We strongly encourage completing the Request for a Combined Assets and Income Assessment (SA457) as soon as you begin investigating your options. After your application is received by the DHS, you will receive an assessment letter which is valid for 120 days from the date of receipt.
For more information on the Department of Human Services Assessment, please visit My Aged Care.
3. Request A Marco Polo Aged Care Services Brochure
Please allow us the opportunity to showcase our services, and how we could provide the type of care and lifestyle that meets your needs. Located in the picturesque Illawarra region of NSW, our residential facilities at Unanderra and Woonona; and our Community Care program offer care to residents from many cultural backgrounds. These communities are built on a foundation of freedom, diversity, health and happiness. We’d be delighted to send you the current Marco Polo Aged Care Services brochure.
4. Tour Our Residential Faciliites
Inspecting your potential aged care facility and seeing first-hand if it meets your needs, is crucial. Our staffs are pleased to arrange a tour of Unanderra or Woonona for you and/or your family, at a time that suits you. On the day, you will be met on arrival, then have the opportunity to plan a walking tour that is customised to your needs. You can see as much or as little as you like, and the tour is often finished with a delicious coffee and cake at the café. Please click here to schedule an appointment.
