Care Manager - Maternity Relief (00013)

About the role

The position is a seven month contract maternity leave cover with the possibility to extend for a further period or potential to job share following completion of this relief contract.

This is a fulltime position at our Unanderra facility, working Monday to Friday 8-430pm or as negotiated with Management and the salary is in accordance with the Marco Polo Enterprise Agreement.

This position reports to the Facility Manager and oversees the care for 85 residents in Unanderra Care section of the facility.

The Care Manager is responsible for:

  • Ensuring personalised care is provided to the residents and that care plans are developed, implemented and reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Monitor, develop and mentor the care team members
  • Daily leadership and oversight of clinical governance
  • Effectively manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the Unanderra Care
  • Plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate nursing programs and clinical services to maintain standards of nursing care.
  • Develop short, medium and long term plans to ensure ongoing success of Unanderra Care and the continual improvement and development of staff, processes and practices.



About you

You will be an experienced Care Manager who is able to hit the ground running. This high paced position requires someone with exceptional time management skills, ability to lead, mentor and motivate a care team and have a passion for delivering outstanding care for our residents.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Current APRHA Registered Nurses Registration
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an aged care environment
  • Excellent Communication, time management and prioritisation Skills
  • Proven ability to effectively manage, coach and develop a diverse team of professionals to enable them to achieve their maximum potential and provide premium patient centred care.
  • Expertise in managing the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) process to maximise benefits/funding.
  • Ability to both formulate and implement effective and appropriate care plans.
  • Strong understanding of Aged Care Accreditation Standards and processes, continuous improvement and quality framework.
  • Proven experience and the ability to develop and implement process improvements and identify proactive solutions to issues raised by staff, residents or resident’s families.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strong, effective working relationships and networks with key internal/external stakeholders or parties.
